Centered on the national tests year 6 and implications for teaching secure skills and fluency, teachers and maths subject leaders were led through practical examples of active maths in the key stage 2 classroom by Tim Handley. Tim helped them to explore approaches to calculations at a Year Six level with a firm concrete and pictorial base.
Feedback was excellent and teachers left energised with a confident vision for their approach to maths for the rest of the year, 100% of attendees who gave feedback rated the course as excellent or very good! Delegates also left the following comments:
