The feedback from this year’s Power of Reading Norfolk cohort has been overwhelmingly positive. Schools say the programme has had a significant and far reaching impact on engagement with texts, creativity, strengthening cross-curricular links and improvements in writing.

97% of teachers said the Power of Reading had raised writing engagement and 98% of teachers said that the Power of Reading had raised reading engagement.

Many VNET members have asked us to run the course again in 2019/20 to support schools who have writing and reading at the heart of their SDIP priorities.

The course will run over 4 days across the school year. It includes 2 book packs (16 texts), whole school access to website resources and free places at Days 1 and 4 for Headteachers. (£1450 + VAT and £950 + VAT for additional participants.)

There will be more information available at the Tea Party on Tuesday 21 May 2019 but we have already started taking bookings for September.

We need 30 participants to run the course so, if you are interested, please express your interest by emailing by Friday 21st June 2019!

Here are a few of the very positive quotes from this year’s participants:

“High engagement across all year groups. Great evidence of writing progress in pupil books. High engagement with school library via very active and motivated Reading Advocates”.

 Northfield St. Nicholas

“The course doesn’t just fire solutions to a problem in the classroom as other courses do, but thoroughly explains the theory behind the activities and how each will be of benefit. Many, many other reasons to recommend – it works!”

Year 6 teacher Dersingham VA Primary and Nursery School

Massive improvement in children’s attitudes. They talk about the books they are reading. It is beginning to impact on writing outcomes”.
