FOR THE ATTENTION OF DESIGNATED TEACHER/SENIOR LEADERSHIP WITH OVERSIGHT OF LOOKED AFTER AND PREVIOUSLY LOOKED AFTER CHILDREN

New statutory guidance for schools and local authorities added new duties in respect of previously looked after children. Now is the time to make sure your practices and policies reflect this guidance and best practice locally and nationally.

It is also an opportunity to feed into the further development of the offer made to schools, settings and partners by the Virtual School for looked after and previously looked after children.

VNET is pleased to offer 2 places for each school/academy/federation/trust an update on the latest Department for Education guidance and tools and materials to ensure your school is at the forefront of best practice for this cohort on Thursday 7th March 2019, from 8.30am – 10.00 am, at South Green Park, Mattishall, NR20 3JY.

Refreshments will be available from 8.00 am.

This will be led by Keeley White, Head of Virtual School – Looked After and Previously Looked After Children, Children’s Services.

VNET has put together this session especially for those with particular strategic responsibility for looked after and previously looked after children

In this session we will:

  • Provide you with the key information you need to ensure all statutory duties are met in your school
  • Consider ways of evidencing best practice
  • Reflect on the support and challenge schools would find most helpful and contribute to the offer made by the Virtual School for looked after and previously looked after children.
